Checklists have become very popular as a way for marketers to keep track of the steps required to make their campaign a success. So today we have brought you an Email Marketing Checklist for your business.

It is hard to believe that there are still businesses that do not use email marketing as part of their business strategy. It is a great way to generate leads and also an awesome way to sell to your current customers.

For the purposes of this email marketing checklist, and email marketing campaign consists of three basic parts and we will go into them in detail below.

  1. The Lead Magnet
  2. The Landing Page
  3. The Autoresponder

The Lead Magnet – The lead magnet is a free giveaway, either a PDF or a video that solves a problem in your niche and is valuable enough to your potential customer for them to give you their email address.

The Landing Page – The landing page is where you offer your lead magnet and where the potential customer will enter their email.

The Autoresponder – The autoresponder is a company that will store your emails and provide the means for you to be able to send pre programmed and broadcast emails.

An email marketing checklist would not be complete without a section on the types of emails that you should be sending to your subscribers.

Types of emails

There are three types of emails that you should be sending to prospective clients. Let’s take a look at them below.

  1. Content Emails
  2. Relationship Emails
  3. Promotional Emails

Content Emails – Content emails are emails that contain some kind of value for your subscriber. It could be content from your blog, or content from someone else’s blog, but it must be of value. You could also send your subscriber other lead magnets that you may have.

Relationship Emails – Remember that you are trying to build a relationship with your subscriber. Send them news about your family, or share events in your life.

Promotional Emails – This is where you try to convert them fro a subscriber to a customer and you should use these sparingly. A well thought out plan incorporating the other 2 emails is usually the most successful.

Email marketing is one of the most effective methods for generating leads and converting those leads to customers that your business can use.
